We are delighted to welcome to our event, two very influential speakers in the Early Years sector:-

Pete Moorhouse from Irresistible Learning is our guest speaker and will be opening the day. Pete is a sculptor, artist and educator. He will be talking about encouraging creative and critical thinking in young children, and will also be running one of our workshops. You may remember we featured an article by Pete in the Winter 2015 edition of smalltalk.

Our key speaker of the day is Owain Lloyd, Deputy Director of Childcare Play & Early Years at Welsh Government. Owain will be talking to you about the childcare offer and other developments in the early years and childcare sector. A chance  to find out what is happening and what opportunities are out there for your setting and workforce

We will also be running a series of workshops from which you will be able to choose to attend two. Our line up include:-

Sonia Evans, Business Wales: ‘Is your organisation ready to make a bid?’

Sonia will be introducing you to the new Sell2Wales website; an information source and procurement portal set up by the Welsh Government and in a second workshop will talk you through the importance of being able to complete the qualifying information about your business when applying for funding.

Matt Anthony, Wales PPA Welsh Language Co-ordinator: ‘Active Offer and developing a Bilingual Workforce’

A workshop aimed at exploring the More than Just Words’ ‘Active Offer’ and how your setting can deliver it and develop a bilingual workforce.

Pete Moorhouse, Irresistible Learning: ‘Woodwork and the Foundation Phase’

With Pete, you will be exploring the connection between the main areas of learning in the Foundation Phase and woodwork.
