The Foundation Phase encourages children to be creative and imaginative, making learning more enjoyable and effective. Welsh Government announced on 18 May that £1 million is to be invested to to develop a Foundation Phase Excellence Network which will develop the skills of staff who teach the curriculum for all 3 to 7 year olds
It is important you, as early years childcare providers have your say in the #AdditionalLearningNeeds consultation. The current system is based on a model introduced more than 30 years ago and is no longer fit for purpose and for the first time our sector is going to be included.
The consultation closes on the 9 June.
On 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force and this will have an impact on the way that fundraising operates.

Dealing with your child’s tantrums and challenging behaviour is one of the most stressful parts of being a parent.
Smoking has finally been banned in school grounds, public playgrounds, and the outdoor areas of registered childcare settings.
Minister for Social Services and Public Health Rebecca Evans said: “This is a landmark day for public health in Wales. The Public Health (Wales) Bill is a radical piece of legislation which will improve and protect the health and wellbeing of the nation.
Arad Research was commissioned by the Cwlwm partners to undertake a review of the development and effectiveness of the partnership working of Cwlwm. The attached report presents the findings of the review and includes key lessons and recommendations for Cwlwm and stakeholders, such as the Welsh Government and local authorities.
