Business Wales Childcare Grant

Have you applied for your Business Wales Childcare Grant yet?

Business Wales are offering childcare providers in Wales the opportunity to apply for a Childcare Grant. The purpose of the grant is to encourage the creation of new childcare places and new places for children with additional or special needs in Wales to support the Welsh Government’s 30 Hour Childcare Offer.

Cwlwm Progress Report

ICYMI – The Cwlwm partnership has recently published its latest grant report.

 

The Cwlwm partnership consists of the 5 leading childcare organisations in Wales:

  • Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs
  • Mudiad Meithrin
  • National Day Nurseries Association Cymru (NDNA Cymru)
  • Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY Cymru)
  • Wales Pre-School Providers Association (Wales PPA)

Cwlwm supports the Welsh Government to ensure that families across Wales can access affordable, quality childcare providing innovative solutions to create flexible childcare and play opportunities to meet the needs of parents and their families.

The Childcare Offer for Wales – Autumn Information Exchanges

Welsh Government invites you to join one of the Autumn Regional Information Exchanges.

Attending these sessions, will give you the opportunity to:

-receive updates on the implementation and roll out of the Childcare Offer

-join a discussion on the top 10 implementation challenges

-receive updates on the lessons learnt from early implementation to date

Social Care Wales: Early Years & Childcare Management Forum

Social Care Wales will be holding its first early years and childcare Manager Forum this year, working in partnership with Cardiff Workforce Development and Accredited Centre.

The forum will be a great opportunity for managers to meet with other managers in their region – to share experiences, learn from each other and hear what is happening at both regional and national levels.

The forum will take place on the evening of Wednesday 14th November 2018 and will be held at: The Lecture Theatre, Eastmoors Road, Splott, Cardiff, CF24 5RR.

Early Years Wales Members Forum – Powys

Early Years Wales (formerly known as Wales PPA) are holding a Members Forum on Monday 12th November in Newtown, Powys that will involve discussions regarding the 30 hour childcare offer and the ALN Bill.

Job Vacancies 

BookTrust Cymru are currently recruiting for two roles within their organisation:

Early Years Engagement Manger (FT, Permanent)

The Early Years Engagement Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of a range of BookTrust Cymru’s Early Years activities, which aim to get every child reading for pleasure from an early age.

In particular, the role includes working closely with Libraries and Health Visitors to ensure that the Bookstart/ Dechrau Da programme continues to be delivered to a high standard in Wales.

BookTrust Cymru coordinator (FT, Fixed Term until 31/12/19)

This particular role will include providing support for the Letterbox Club programme in Wales. The Letterbox Club supports children who are looked after to enjoy books and reading and has been running in Wales for almost ten years.

We are also looking for someone who can contribute to other key areas of our work. In particular, we’re looking for someone who can support our communications work to help us get our messages to families and partners. This could include coordinating our social media, developing website content and writing newsletters.

We’re looking for someone with experience of working on projects or programmes with external partners, who is an excellent communicator and who is enthusiastic, committed and willing to learn and develop.
