Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland – ‘Relaxed Access Sessions’

Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland will be offering dedicated ‘Relaxed Access Sessions’ this year, designed to welcome visitors who may benefit from a more informal experience, such as those with autism, sensory or communication needs and wheelchair users.

During these sessions, lighting will become static, sound levels will drop and the capacity of the ice rink will be decreased to allow those who may need extra support, to enjoy the facility.

For more information on this, including dates and times these sessions will be held, please follow the link here to the Cardiff Winter Wonderland website.

#WorldMentalHealthDay

In case you missed it, it was #WorldMentalHealthDay last week and social media was full of useful information to help raise awareness on mental health.

In light of this, we thought we would re-share this useful link from the NHS website that focuses on the importance of having regular conversations with children to talk about their feelings, which includes useful tips on spotting signs of a child feeling unhappy or sad.

Play Wales also posted a useful information sheet that focuses on the importance of play for a child’s mental health and how it can have a positive effect on children’s brain development. Click here to read more about it.
