Cwlwm are working closely with Care Inspectorate Wales to gather evidence on the implementation of ratings for childcare and play settings. They are looking for settings who have received a rating from CIW at their latest inspection (whether a silent/unpublished rating or a published rating) to complete this short four question survey.

and in case you missed it…
CIW have recently announced that childcare and play providers are NOT required to completed their SASS for 2018-19. It is still required however to ensure your Quality of Care Review is up to date.

Staying on theme with the Foundation Phase…
New guidance was published last week for the Foundation Phase provision for three and four-year-olds. This is available in both English and Welsh, and can also be found on the Foundaton Phase webpage here, along with any other resources you may consider useful.
Plans to give new parents a free goody box of essential items will be considered if Mark Drakeford becomes Wales’ next first minister.
Baby bundles, similar to those launched across Scotland in 2017, would contain things such as clothes and blankets, presented in a Moses basket.
He said it was a “great proposal” that would help tackle child poverty, and if he becomes first minister, would want the government to fund them – costing between £100 and £150 each.

For the first time this will consider the possibility a child has been deliberately turned against one parent, by the other.
Parental alienation, as it’s called, will be just one of the options a social worker might consider.
